Manchester United teenager Charlie Wellens is said to be under the attention of AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho.
According to the Mirror, Roma manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign Manchester United youngster Charlie Wellens. The 19-year-old is yet to play a first team game for the Red Devils, but it is widely reported that a number of European teams are watching him.

He is the son of Richie Wellens, a former United youth player. Last season, he also led Salford City, a club owned by Old Trafford legends such as David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Phil and Gary Neville.

Charlie has played as a full-back, right-winger and central midfielder for the Red Devils U23 team. He played in all three of United’s EFL Trophy games against Lincoln City, Bradford and Sunderland, making regular appearances in Premier League 2.

Mourinho is said to be eager to bring this talent to the Italian capital and strengthen the defensive options. The Portuguese manager is said to have noticed Wellens when he was United manager from May 2016 to December 2018.

Mourinho is said to have also wanted to sign the player when he was Tottenham manager between November 2019 and April 2021. Spurs are still said to be interested in Wellens, as well as the home. Italian defending champion, Inter Milan.
