» Saturday will mark the 34th all-time meeting between Delaware and Richmond. The two teams last met in 2019, a 35-25 victory for the Spiders. Overall, the Blue Hens hold a 21-12 record against Richmond, including a 2-1 mark under Head Coach Danny Rocco.

» In their last contest, the Blue Hens came away with a resounding 24-3 victory over then-No. 20/23 William & Mary at Delaware Stadium. Quarterback Zach Gwynn was an efficient 17-of-21 passing for 157 yards, throwing touchdown passes to James Collins and Jourdan Townsend. Dejoun Lee added the other score with a 12-yard touchdown run.

» The Delaware defense put together another dominating effort, holding the Tribe to just one field goal and 228 total yards. William & Mary had come into the game averaging a CAA-leading 216.9 yards per game on the ground but managed just 105 rushing yards. Johnny Buchanan and Liam Trainer led the defense with 12 tackles apiece. The 12 tackles were a career high for Trainer, who also added 2.0 TFL and a pass breakup, while Buchanan also had an interception. Noah Plack chipped in with nine tackles, including multiple key stops on special teams.

» For the second-straight week, sophomore punter Tyler Pastula was named the CAA Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in Saturday’s victory. Pastula averaged 47.8 yards on five punts, raising his CAA-leading season average to 42.8 yards per punt. The Easton, Pennsylvania native had two punts over 50 yards, including his first punt which dropped inside William & Mary’s 20-yard line and was fumbled, leading to Delaware’s first touchdown.

» Richmond comes into Saturday’s game with a 4-5 overall record and a 2-4 mark in CAA play after a 28-17 victory over Towson last weekend in what was the Spiders’ Homecoming matchup. Richmond has won two-straight games after losing five-consecutive contests.

» The Spider offense with fifth in the CAA with a scoring average of 21.2 ppg while totaling 339.3 yards of offense per game. The defense ranks third in the conference, allowing just 19.6 ppg and 326.2 ypg to opponents.
